CHIWAN Container Terminal(CCT) in Shenzhen again introducted two triple-lift quayside cranes recently after the port orerator installed one a year ago.
The two new triple-lift quayside cranes,with three spreaders capable of lifting three 40-foot containers simultaneously were developed by Shanghai’s ZPMC and arrived at CCT berth NO 12 on January 13,a company statement of CCT said.
The two machines,each weighing1,638,6 tons,can lift containers 43 metres with outreaches of more than 65 metres,enabing them to load and unload the world’s largest containerships,the statement said.
CCT said the world-top quayside cranes will help to improve operation effciency as well as utilisation of the port facilities.
CCT also broke a lifting record at its No 7 dock while discharging the MSC Candice,The average quay crane operation productivity on the vessel was 64.17 box per hour,the higher operation productivity record in CCT history.
CCT had deployed five quay cranes for operation of the vessel(discharging 2.542 units without loading).four cranes were capable of handling twin-lift 40-footers.Meantime,during the operation,one quay crane driver had created the productivity record of 132 boxes in one hour.
