CSAV has teamed up with MSC on the India-Europe sector to jointly service the region from August 2011. As reported earlier, it has withdrawn from the IMEX service and has joined MSC's IPAK service calling at Port Pipavav. CSAV's first vessel, m.v. Pucon, made the inaugural call at Pipavav on August 11, according to Exim News Service. This new cooperation will have two vessels of 6,500 TEUs from CSAV and five vessels of 6,000-6,700 TEUs of MSC. The rotation of the new IPAK service will remain unchanged except for the removal of the eastbound Jeddah call. The rotation is as follows: Bremerhaven, Antwerp, Felixstowe, Salalah, Mumbai-Nhava Sheva, Pipavav, Mundra, Salalah, Jeddah, Gioia Tauro, Valencia, Bremerhaven. CSAV was keen to participate in the expanding trade growth in North West India. "This is a sign of CSAV's positive view towards the future economic growth and development. This agreement will expand our coverage in these markets, improving transit times and frequency, allowing us to provide a better service to our customers." Source: transportweekly
