Geneva's Mediterranean Shipping Company has taken delivery of the MSC Deila, 25th unit in a programme of 26 ships of 13,798-14,000 TEU built by Samsung and Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME), according to Alphaliner. The MSC Deila is the 17th of the DSME units, which have a design quite similar to the Samsung units. She is to join the MSC's Asia-Europe Lion Service, on which CMA CGM co-loads, branding it "FAL 7". The MSC Deila follows the MSC Clorinda in the DSME series, delivered in December. The last unit in the 26 Samsung-DSME programme, MSC Valeria, is expected to be delivered by mid-year. MSC has also received 12 neo-panamax vessels between 12,500-13,000-TEU ships and is expecting another 14 both owned and chartered. It has also recently launched a newbuilding programme for up to 10 ships of 16,000 TEU, contracted by Zodiac Maritime. Source: transportweekly
